Relax and do some Colouring
A brand new year, for some a brand new start, whether it is a new baby, a new job, a new house, everyone will have something they are striving to achieve this year.
However, the best way to start a new year is not by setting new years resolutions that will make it to the too hard pile by next week or a new diet that is out the window when you wake up the next day.
Instead why not spend the first few days of the year relaxing with family and friends, relaxation is not simply about “switching off” it is about giving your body and mind a nurturing space to regenerate and heal.
What about colouring? Who here likes to colour?
I love to colour in, I find it relaxing, I love to use colours that aren't the usual colours for a particular object, just to see what it will look like!
Colouring is good for you, it uses both sides of your brain and calms the amygdala, (this is the part of the brain that is related to our fear and stress response) that is WHY it is relaxing, the left side for motor skills and attention (this is your logical side) and the right side for colour, shape, imagination and emotion (this is the creative side)
