Your Sacral Chakra

Your sacral chakra is located between the base of the spine and your navel, this chakras colour is orange.

It is connecting you to your physical body and life force, this chakra is not about survival, it is all about the joy of being alive, this where everything gets more fun and juicy

This one is all about spending time with another for pleasure, it is about noticing the taste, colour and flavour of your food, it is all about sensuous enjoyment and pleasure!

It is linked to the moon, so it is connecting you with movement, flow, change and spontaneity.

(Did you know there is no word in the German language for spontaneity!)

Because the womb is in this area it is also associated with a deep, instinctive creativity and the gestation of projects, yes even for men!

Try to connect with your passion, by diluting  bergamot, cinnamon or juniper berry  and rubbing below your belly button and inhale.

The power to procreate and dream up creative endeavors flows from this energy centre, so when your sacral chakra is working well, you feel energetic and optimistic about the next delightful thing coming your way.

Like a happy child you are comfortable in your body and can open yourself up to appreciate each moment.

You may enjoy new challenges, or be instinctively creative, your friendships are in full bloom, a cuppa with a friend fills your cup, your love live is amazing, you are comfortable with your sexuality.

Plus you have all this extra physical energy to burn and because you are fit you can handle extremes of emotions.

But when it isn't....

life can be dry and dull or intense and over powering, maybe you are feeling slightly depressed or numb, you have no joy for colour and nothing to look forward to, to others you may seem emotionally cold and distant, you've stopped moving your body, stopped catching up with friends and your love life has deflated.

Never fear, all can be fixed.

Working with your sacral chakra can be a lot of fun, this is the perfect opportunity to give yourself permission for self care, book in a massage, take a long indulgent bath, focus on something that gives you joy!

It is all about orange, start noticing all the wonderful shades of orange around you, wear something orange, bring home some orange flowers,  when I am working on a chakra for me, I try to wear lingerie in that colour, eat the world of orange, oranges, mandarins, tangellos, capsicums, pawpaw, pumpkin, kumera, turmeric, tomatoes, mango, passion fruit, almonds, cinnamon, walnuts, it is so easy to eat a rainbow

Make sure you drink lots of water, maybe add a drop of grapefruit or tangerine oil to it.

Pamper yourself, as I said earlier book in a massage, a facial, some reflexology or a head massage, whatever is your jam, do that.

Look after your belly, good digestion is essential for your wellbeing.

Make sure you are moving your body, go for a walk in nature, do some yoga, swim in the ocean.

This chakra is linked to water so find some joy there.

Remember to observe the moon, notice what effect each phase has on you, maybe track this in your journal, or start a vision board.

Make love, focus on joy and intimacy, we are humans and we a re wired for connection with another.

Connect to your creativity, diffuse and wear oils like jasmine, neroli, bergamot, patchouli, chamomile, cardamom, geranium, or ylang ylang.

Most importantly HAVE FUN! Laugh, watch some funny movies, go to a theme park, fly a kite, be a rebel and eat the cookie dough from the bowl and remember to SMILE!

Hamonise with musical note "D" say O like home.

Apply some wild orange and lime to your forearms, turn up the music and dance like no one is watching.

Use oils to support you like bergamot, cinnamon, juniper berry, patchouli, ylang ylang and wild orange.

Try doing some yoga like bound ankle pose or happy baby pose.

Carry crystals, carnelian jasper or orange calcite for strengthening.

For an over used sacral chakra try sodalite or blue lace agate

If you are mediating or doing yoga, use some mudras, your sacral chakra is all about the  Dhyana mudra, rest the back of your right hand in the palm of the other with tips of thumbs lightly touching..

This alignment of the hands soothes the nerves. You’ll notice many statues of Buddha have him in this mudra.

Practice this regularly to combat everyday stress.

Hugs Nic x
